Employee Spotlight: Dan Wells
Q: What is your role at Testerman Restoration?
A: Product Manager. I’m the buyer/coordinator of construction materials for restoration projects.
Q: Before working at TR what was the most fun, unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
A: Owner/Operator of live audio production/engineering company, “Wired For Sound ProAudio”. Our primary job function was to provide live audio products/services (i.e., the PA/sound system) for touring bands for mid-sized venues (approximately 2000 seats). We also taught groups (mostly church-related entities) how to run and/or operate their existing sound system, as well as troubleshoot design-related and/or poor performance issues. We were also dealers of a substantial volume of audio-related gear.
Q: How did you first learn about Testerman Restoration?
A: Previous occasional business relationship while at former employer.
Q: How has TR helped you in your career development?
A: They employed me!! :>)
Q: If you could switch your job with anyone else within the company whose job would you want?
A: No one, I enjoy my job.
Q: What is your favorite part about working for TR?
A: Job flexibility
Q: What is your proudest moment at TR?
A: When a decision was made to allow working from home in light of current health-related circumstances.

Q: Where is your hometown?
A: Knoxville, TN, but grew up (school years) in the suburbs of Chicago, IL.
Q: What is something not many folks know about you?
A: I am an active musician. While keyboards are my primary instrument, I play seven musical instruments, having had nearly 25 years (combined) in music education and training. I also have a certification in live audio sound system design, set up/engineering and operation. Over the years, I’ve been pianist in a variety of church-related contemporary musical settings, in addition to having been a member of several bands working with/through churches. I’m currently working with a vocal trio (and the accompanying band) who has performed together in various forms for nearly 40 years.
Q: Do you have a favorite outdoor or indoor activity?
A: Music performance w/band.
Q: Where was your best vacation?
A: Belize.
Q: Do you have a funny or embarrassing moment that happened at work to share?
A: No.
Q: Do you have a favorite quote or line from a movie?
A: “He slimed me!” Peter Venkman (played by Dan Akroyd) in “Ghostbusters”.
Q: Do you have a work nickname?
A: “Dan”
Q: You are happiest when?
A: Playing/practicing/arranging/performing music, preferably within a group/band.
Q: If you were a hot dog, and you were starving, would you eat yourself?
A: What kind of question is that???
